Ten years after their failed separation, the actor couple from the play Lucia melts are still together. At the age of forty they regard themselves as reasonably happy and satisfied with their lot, though there has never been real passion in their relationship.

One dark evening when the two feel lonely together, they invite over the young actor Maya, who they both teach at drama school. Initially they warm to her youthful lack of inhibition but during the course of the evening Maya suddenly becomes a blazing fire with extreme ideas about love and the theatre.

The couple who see their own past reflected in the young actor, rebel against her. The fire flares up dangerously. The two become a ferociously burning forest that will devour the young Bambi.
