Scarlet Tummers and Atta Nasser create a performance with Atta's place of birth as a starting point: Jerusalem, cradle of religion, of an ongoing conflict, but also a place where people live and laugh. This performance wants to symbolise Jerusalem in all its different aspects through a heartfelt encounter between two actors-creators. Questions about major themes like family, faith and rootlessness lead to a search for themselves, their origins and each other.
Jerusalem was created within the framework of de medeSTANders, an initiative in which young makers develop a performance under the wings of STAN. This way we want to share our table and, without sitting down there ourselves, provide thorough support and advice.
On 1 December, Jerusalem premieres in Campo, Ghent. Afterwards, Jerusalem will be shown in different places in Belgium and the Netherlands.
